Developer Garena has officially introduced a new Squad Restriction System in Garena Free Fire, bringing an important change to the Ranked matchmaking system. The new
feature aims to create a more balanced and competitive environment for players, especially at higher ranks.
According to the official announcement, the Squad Restriction System was implemented on March 12 and now limits which ranks can team up together in Ranked matches.
Master Rank Squad Restrictions
Under the new rules, players who reach Master Rank will only be able to form squads with players who are Diamond Rank or higher.
This means Platinum and lower rank players will no longer be able to join Master rank squads in Ranked matches.
This change has been made to prevent rank boosting and to ensure that high-rank players compete with players of similar skill levels.
Elite Master Rank Squad Restrictions
The restrictions become even stricter for players who reach Elite Master Rank.
Elite Master players can now only squad up with players who are Heroic Rank or above when playing Ranked matches.
This prevents lower-ranked players from entering extremely high-skill lobbies and maintains fair matchmaking for top-tier players.
